It is blue and dark black
The blue is subdued
Like a handkerchief
In a dry spell

It was a bandanna
now laid on ground
in ceremony
and for covering
what the sheriff would
like to see

she certainly did not.
she sent her daughter
with short tanned hairless
litigation shorts

a narrow space existed
and still does
between her and the
county board

most of her hair was brown
a little black in cracks
some blond between her narrow thoughts
red while being hungry
and in the mode

Sheriff Mona?
If you ever feel this
call my prison
my cell
my need
