Tumbling stone
perched at the edge of the field
rebelling the
leaf and lichen mortar
rambling testament to men
whose sweat is long since dust
and to their sons
who have abandoned the tillage
of their fathers
no one hears the wind
toppling another memory

Beautiful!

Evocative piece, well-phrased.

I just had an image of Robert Frosts "fence" falling over and no one was there to care, thats sad, melancholy, nice short haunting poem :)
