Stove food now that's a thought
Stove food it can't be bought
Stove food comes from love
Is it truly a gift from above?

Stove food gladdens a young child's heart
Why has stove food become a such a dying art?
Is it that time's too dear
Or have we forgotten how important to care?

There's beef and chicken and vegetables too
And let’s not forget that good cowboy stew.
Pintos beans and cornbread oh what a treat.
My, I think it’s time to eat!

There's home grown tomatoes, onions, and peppers.
We serve them with ham and biscuits and gravy.
There're pies and cakes to make
Just like granny used to bake.

We wash it all down with ice tea or wine.
Boy does it ever taste so fine.
It warms the belly and soothes the heart.

Stove food speaks to all gathered at the table.
It says I love you and I truly do care
And that I’m glad you’re here to share.
