Do the lot of you laugh at my expense; at my foolishness and pain?
Do you scoff at my dreams and make fun of my musings?

Do you tell of my secrets and share giggles at my former failings?
Have you told her the things that I had only shared with you and you alone?

How childish you seem; sitting at your desks, typing away your lives
Disregarding reality for endless moments in a computerized creation

I pity you and your snobbish mentality; caught up in your clever clique
Heaping praise where praise is not due; filling each other with false fervor

You once told me that you would never allow yourself to sink so low as they
But you are lower than the rest, wallowing in the very depths of your own defecation

It sickens my very soul to see what you and other do to make yourselves accepted
Joining the circle, hand-in-hand, smiles pasted on like morbid puppets on a dirty string

I am reminded of days gone by when thirteen year old girls would cling tight
Eliminating the less popular or less attractive of the group; so cruel were they

I turn my back on such banter and brazen callousness and shake my head
I can only carry on and look from afar at the one I never really knew...

at all.
