i lay there wishing mountains would move and the moon was mine

and all i felt was fear and pain and all it meant was to drift away

the others slowly fell apart and the screams echoed their plastic lives

but when i surface from grime soaked sheets the lady was still there.

age had taken her beauty away so i could see the pride laid bear,

and illness took her health away so i could see the will still there

and i met her eyes and my soul felt wretched for shame of my fear

but she looked back into me and rose me up by showing how to fight

i am not brave who fears not the black, im am brave to seek the light
