Strings

Fingers gently strum on my life’s guitar,
Touch me in a chord of C,
Then try me out in a flat G.
Tips of your fingers ambling over my soul,
Does my sound make you feel whole?

Please play rock on me,
Then maybe some jazz.
Your rhythm playing shows a lot of pizzazz.
Your touch so electrifying,
I’m in heaven and I’m crying.

Never put me down,
That’s my request.
Always hold my body near to your breast.
Does my sound resonate in you?
Whispering my melodies tried and true.

Play me in front of your friends.
Try me in front of a crowd,
You can’t play me too loud.
Just don’t put me back in my case,
I don’t want to lose sight of your face.
