people smile
at silver streaks of memory
at soft soap jingles
at baby bubbles
She smiled, he knew
but he had never caught her at it
He saw her in bits and pieces
a nickelodeon flicker
there, then there
the change lost in eye blinks
and silver streaks
A tivoli life
still pictures of dance
a fan of hair
a tease of flesh
never here
just there, then there
Her smile
a coin in a conjuror's hand
known
never seen
silver
never gold.
The title sounds interesting but then you had to write the rest. Damn shame.
I love the "almost visible" feel to ths poem; always at the periphery of perception
and the rest of the work is a perfect fit, here and there, never still, never golden, perfectly conveyed, :)
