Click hereMany say you are out there
And I want to believe
There are so many questions
I have, don’t you see?
It’s not that I’m unfaithful
Damn! I want to believe
There’s so much to religion
Must I pick one to see?
So therein lies the problem
I must choose only one
So right there starts the problem
Now my questions begun
I have specific problems
With many who have so much faith
That their God’s the right one
Want to get in my face
When a person that I love
And who loves me too
Frets I’ll end up in hell
Because I still need to choose
That I haven’t officially
Said: “Jesus-be in my heart
I believe in the Bible
Christianity from the start!”
But, again there are questions
And who said they were right?
Only Christians get saved?
All the rest suffer plight?
That the Buddhists and Jews
Have a faith that is not it?
That the Catholics and Mormons
Go to hell and eat shit?
That you have to adhere
To the rules as they’re set
That you have to believe
What they say – that’s bullshit!
I say: God is among us
And he loves everyone
Doesn’t matter your color
Or where you come from
He will not judge me harshly
Because I don’t sign up
For some pretentious bullshit
Walk around – Bible thump!
Culture plays a huge role
How we choose our belief
Doesn’t make others wrong
Loves us all – don’t you see?
He is ALL the religions
And the wind and the trees
That it’s right in your heart
Where you need to believe
He respects me for that
And he’s proud of me too
That I’m not like a sheep
Following a herd too
That I am open-minded
That I go with my heart
That I know right from wrong
That I have from the start
I have always adhered to
The right things to do
Never needed religion
And the instructions too
That it’s not for the list
And the rules we abide
That God loves us and helps us
Because we picked the right side
And the louder they shout it
The clearer I see
They are more full of bullshit
Organized Religion is: not for me
On a positive note
Religion does have a place
Brings the people together
To share love and their faith
That it helps some who struggle
When they must make a choice
Can refer to their Bible –
Listening for His Voice
And that’s OK with me
I don’t need to join up
I can make good decisions
And still hear His Voice
So the questions that plague me
That have scared me within
Are no longer an issue
Now I understand HIM
They can have their religions
Hope it works well for them
He won’t hold it against me
Wants me just: not to sin
So I’ve struggled with God
Wondered if I believe
Now I see that was stupid
Always have – don’t you see?
Always been in my heart
Always there from the start
That it’s others perceptions
Filled my mind up with doubt
That it’s others beliefs
I could not figure out
God is not simple minded
And he fills many roles
Doesn’t need you to sign up
So he can save your soul
For he knows we are human
And we will make mistakes
Hopefully, we will learn from them
It’s OK – not too late!
So the end of the story?
What it is all about?
Finding God in your own heart
Open up – let it out!
Do the right things in life
Yes, sometimes it’s damn hard
Giving love to some people
Who might not fit the card
I believe in the truth
I believe we have choice
Not because of religion
That we can hear His Voice
I believe we are destined
That God does have a plan
Many things we must go through
Sometimes we can’t understand
But it’s all for a reason
And sometimes we can’t see
That we’re here for a reason
So have faith and believe
As we go through this life
And we struggle with strife
There’s that “Y” in the road
Wondering: which way should I go?
Try to follow your heart
Try to play the right part
Try to be open minded
Know God is there, inside us
Be responsible for your actions
And learn from your mistakes
Don’t do harm unto others
Please don’t lie and don’t take
Teach your children to be good
To love and respect themselves
And to make the right choices
Even when: not understood
That sometimes we must suffer
Sometimes live with great pain
Just in order to get where
We’re needed – Gods plan
Also try to remember
Evil walks among us
That it has many faces
Working hard to gain trust
And there will come a time
When you’re faced with that choice
So remember your heart
Listen for His Voice
The Devil comes in many forms and he
Always wears a smile…
If you are a good person
And you wish no one harm
Whether you come from the city
Or were raised on a farm
It’s about what you stand for
It’s about what you do
Not about which religion
You have been born into
Love the people around you
And don’t judge by their look
We are all very different
Some just look like a crook
Not their fault how their face looks
Or the tint of their skin
What’s important is their heart
And what they have within
So stay strong in your beliefs
And convictions too
Try to be non-judgmental
God believes others too
He will judge based on fact
He will judge you for you
He will make his decision
Based on things that you do
Not based on membership
Not based on affiliations
Simply – based on you
Are you good? Are you true?
Who you are as a person
Solely: on what you do!
