i was just wandering in the void without her.
unsightly bound to something which was gone from me
blindly devoted, and yet deeply betrayed
i was the casualty of their love

addicted to her grace, subject to her fancy
drifting erratically through oblivion
but then i beheld the glimmer of her eye
at the mere thought of being with him

and i had, too, one who made my heart sing
louder than it has ever sang
a sense of belonging greater than any before
a friend who is everything and more

one who was mine and yet was not
i crave her with every fibre
she is my incapacitating angel
i want no longer to be a stranger to her grace
