I met him on a summer's eve
And right away, I knew he could set me free
I felt trapped in a marriage with no love
And so was he

A fling was all it was supposed to be
But filled my soul with fire and passion did he
Maybe he was sent from above
That's not the way it was supposed to be

In bed I yearned for him every night
Although it wasn't right
While laying with my husband for who I had no love
Dreams of my lover gave me such delight.

I came on too strong; oh if only
I hadn't scared him away, I wouldn't be so lonely
