Summers Gone

Those summer nights are all but a distant memory
Now the winter nears
The radiant beams of a sun once hot
Has all but disappeared.
The flowers that bloomed are now in slumber
That birds have all fled their nest
Rodents search for winter food
Every creature has gone and flown west.
The trees are bare with naked bark
Their leaves have fallen off one by one to the ground.
