The wave comes along and knocks me down,
It tumbles me over, but I wont drown.
It’s not a wave of water you see,
It’s the wave of love you have for me.

Your lips say things,
Your eyes do too,
Your heart speaks to mine,
And I know its true.

You speak of the feelings you have for me,
And I have them for you as well you see,
We speak in a lover’s secret tongue,
Where everything’s right and nothing is wrong.

We dream and make plans of what could be,
Of what life holds for you and life holds for me,
My dreams are distant like stars in the sky,
You bring them in close and you make my dreams fly.

You bring colour to my world and make it right,
No more boring grey just a lovers bright light,
You show me that loves wishes can come true,
And now I devote myself all to you.

Both of us take, and both of us give,
Both of us have made the other one live
Both of us lead and both of us follow
Our hearts full of love, no longer hollow

I have sat and tried to make the words scan,
I know that you know, I’ve done the best that I can,
Look on this poem with a lover’s eye
It may not rhyme, but at least it doesn’t lie.
