When day is done
darkness becomes
my escape from those things that bind.
When dreams replace
my wakeful space
I see the Sunrise of my mind.
I crave it’s heat;
that warmth so sweet--
a wonderful, refreshing find.
It soothes my soul
and makes me whole--
that blessed Sunrise of my mind.
Its light inspires
my deep desires
and causes my spirit to shine.
It illuminates
my sense of fate--
that glowing Sunrise of my mind.
But dreams don’t stay
when I awake;
yet still, I’ll seek that hidden sign.
I’ll take the chance
and ponder, perhaps,
are you the Sunrise in my mind?
