Surrender

I watch the reflection of amber flames of fire
From the fireplace in the room
Appear to surround our shadows on the wall
Like a manifestation of what I feel inside

An inferno
From your every thrust to drive deeper, deeper than before
The flames shoot higher

You hold down my hands and will me to look into your face
While I relinquish all control and let you set the pace
To watch the desire, need, and pleasure
Build in my darkening green eyes
As the coming rapture starts to take its rightful place

I whimper
As you take me closer to begging for release
But neither of us want this exquisite torture to ever, ever cease

For even though I’ve danced this dance many times before you
It’s never been anything like this
I never knew it could be so extraordinary
Or that I was capable of love like this

To trust enough to let you do
Things I had never before dared voice

To have no fear of the heights you push me to
Or the fall as you drive me over the brink
Into passion’s cauldron

I so marvel at the look upon your face
As your body once again takes me to that place
That I had never been to before

And I wish I knew what it is you really see
When you look into my soul
That makes you love me like no one ever has before

I watch your face until I see
That your need has risen to match
The tide that’s almost drowning me

Silently giving permission
That I may finally plead
For you to give me everything
As I give you all of me

We cling to one another
As we both hit passion’s peak
And slowly drop
Into the silent abyss
Of totally sated sleep
