SURROUNDED BY VAN GOGH

This Fall evening...
Sittin’ eatin’
Soup,
Reminiscing
About
Me & u
Van Gogh
Covers all walls
In foliage yellow
Recalling
The urge to kiss you
To boldly
Stare at you
In a crowded space
Searching ur pale
Italian face
Van Gogh
Red beard,
Green eyed
In top hat, fashionable for his time,
Peers over my shoulder,
“Write her a portrait of swirly galaxy, transparent nocturnal rivers,
teal & yellow stars.”
Remembering...
Watching your eyes perk
As you coat your throat
With the season’s flavored suppa,
Perching your lips
With your second helping
of sweet wine
Alone,
Silent in the elevator,
You’d probably
Slap me
If you knew what ran threw my mind.
Van Gogh art pieces
Winking back at me
Empty chairs
Couples meeting discreetly.
Lonely drinkers sit near by
As a pool player stands solo.
Bright sadden, drooping flowers
A Recollection
Of hearing your
Uncertain but, honest...
“I don’t knows”
Yet,
Recalling
How it was your simple, exotic touch
That kept us up
Throughout the late night hours.
Sitting
Eating soup
Reminiscing
On a FALL starry evening,
Surrounded by Van Gogh

~~

If they were the real deal

Conversations could get quite heated

And be regularly recurring

With all the comfort that the real deal implies.
