As the warm, sand-blown

Beach to a sodden, ocean-survivor

Are your arms

Around me.

And I will not

Seek rescue nor even

Welcome it.

Instead

I will seek the jungles

Within

The confines of your coast.

I will map

Your savage deeps

And dense woodland.

(The survivor rises

From the warm embrace

And smiles while

He looks off

Into the wild interior

And says:

"You are mine, now.

And I will

Not forsake you.")

Format.

The double spacing wrecked this for me. It's a good idea, using the survivor as metaphor, but it was ruined for me by the abbysses between lines - sorry.
