Survivors and heroes of September 11, 2001

Our nation weeps...Weeps bitter tears of sorrow and hurt.
Disaster has struck us...How do we cope?
How do we look to the future?
How do we live our lives and move on?

Millions weep, millions strive
To understand the senseless distruction
They search for something, anything
To help them deal with the pain and loss.

Buildings crumble taking thousands.
Families unite searching for lost loved ones.
A priest falls while giving last rites.
He is happy in a higher place, smiling down,
Knowing that though he parished he gave peace to a departing soul.

Firefighters parish trying to save lives
Workers run ready to clean up the damage
Some sad soul caused.
Heroes, special people, golden hearts, pure souls.
A group of brave souls take a stand, saving a nation's leader's home.
Give their lives to preserve others.
All out nation''s heroes have a special place beside our God.
