I have a friend sweet as dew
her name I really can't tell you
one thing I can say and it is true
she really is lovely and honest to
There is no one that could take her place
her friendship and she full of grace
should I lose her what a sin
I would have to throw the towel in
To stop my writing true without her there
what could I do my inspiration unaware
would be gone and I could never carry on
