near my tattered home
are woods sweet with animal sounds
wild, willing dogs
vociferous frogs
chirping barked, biting remarks
a great lake lapping
wets a sandy sometime
sometimes rocky line
in time footprints melt
down
in rhyme,
commas define
a pause or purpose or reason
while makeup confines
a clown in an
emotional democracy
