Talk

Our talk so often leaves us wanting,

wanting more talk, wanting to talk, and

wanting our talk to lead us outside/in

to fondle the outside with our imaginations,

knowing the fingers of our minds

will touch the spots that tantalize our senses,

and rough our skin with prickly bumps,

until we sense moistened slits and pockets

that ooze to words of touching talk.

We swell and drip with inside succulence

exuding from the depths of wanting,

seeping from probe and pocket, ‘til

fulfillment will not be denied,

and outside slides inside, as

talking turns to primal murmurings

I like...

this line: to fondle the outside with our imaginations.

Interesting poem.

Touching talk

The poet explores the use of words to stir the imagination

and generate arousal. The poem does more telling than showing.

"words of touching talk" is a pretty good phrase.
