Inside the ripeness of us
Awaits the orange pulp of love
When the surface flesh is peeled aside
We uncover the meat of who we are together
Sweet often, and a tart as well
The flavor uncertain
Till we know each other well
At beginnings our desires rule the taste
Of what we seemingly be,
As the flavor lingers
It's then we do know
The tangerine meanings
Of our relationship do we.
who edits these poems now. I have been gone a while, but is the best Lit has to offer now? whoever gave it that E was on acid or something.....the metaphor is awful, the context, word choices are amateurish, which I realize, this is not a professional poet site, but still. There are way too many "flaws" in this work to get a score higher than a 2. sorry.....
