A whisper, a whisper,
as soft as melody,
as fluent as smoke.
Blue, swirling, transient smoke

Was it loud enough to hear?
Was it strong enough to touch?
Fingers reaching out,
feeling their way in the dark.

A whisper, sweet whisper,
a voice, a sigh,
shattering the silence
that has screamed for an age.

Did it mean to be mean?
Was its softness the hardest thing of all?
As fingers found fingers,
as friendship dies in a lovers arms.

A whisper, tangible whisper,
like the sweat taste of a dream,
just an imprint of memory dust,
as faint as the taste of lips.

How can it redeem?
Can it be wrong to be so right?
When blinded,
What colour does it leave the sun?
