I left at dawn.
Now it's high noon.
The water's gone
save what's in the sea.
I would drink it
if I liked salt.

Salt --
by itself, salt.
Not sweet
nor bitter
nor clear like water
not right.

Boat rocks
on sea
like a top
on a table
tossing and turning
but purposeless.

I had left
boundaries
For the boundless.
Sure
but purposeless
like a top.

In search
of peace,
In search of
freedom,
like birds
in flight.

A seagull flies
not alone
but with others
reminding me
what is
true nature.

I am salt --
Not sweet
nor bitter
nor clear like water
not of the seas
but of the earth.

*Tanha: in Buddhism, the return to self.

Life is no fun if. . .

it is porpoiseless.

Your poetry is generally very good.

I like the theme and metaphor in this one,

but you might wish to consider dropping the "a"s in this stanza

since "Boat" has no article.

"Boat rocks

on sea

like a top

on a table

tossing and turning

but purposeless."
