Tears

I did not know love could hurt so
my eyes swollen from the tears
that feel like acid on my skin.
The pain fills my heart
running through my body
it didn’t always feel this way.
Once you made me feel alive
your voice made me tingle
and ache for your touch.
I thought you were there for me
in spirit over the distance
I trusted you with my heart.
One day something changed
you no longer shared your
intimate thoughts with me.
That fine line between
love and hate became blurry
with my confusion and pain.
Why this hurtful game?

Bitterness and hatred.
I Thought I could trust you
but now I see you were
never truthful to yourself.
