Tears of Broken Glass
Jack Green
Slow Pain, It tears apart the past
Now you’re crying tears of broken glass
Blood Flows, you drink it up fast
Now you’re crying tears of broken glass
Glass cuts your heart, your soul. Glass cuts the people that I want to hold
Glass cuts my face as it falls from my eyes
Glass cuts so deep that everyone dies…everyone…
Reach out for hurt. I feel its cold
How does it work? I don’t know
Reach out for love. I feel the sting
Stay inside. The world looks mean.
People around me everyday but I’m still locked inside.
Someone else is talking to you when you look into my eyes
Live my life like a machine as I take on my days
I see the shadows on your face but it is you who made me this way.
You expect me to succeed but you gave me broken tools
Someone inside of me is calling me a fool.
Knock me down, nailed to the ground just like every day
You curse because I won’t stand up but it is you who made me this way
Slow to anger slow to wrath but I can feel the burn.
The fuse goes down, a silent spark and you’re about to learn.
All the Hell you put me through has made me cold and mean.
I’m silent and shy and I’ll watch you die.
I'm Smiling as you scream.
No more, it’s a funeral cast
Now you’re crying tears of broken glass
Blood pours and I taste it at last.
Now you’re crying tears of broken glass
Glass cuts your heart, your soul. Glass cuts the people that I want to hold
Glass cuts my face as it falls from my eyes
Glass cuts so deep that everyone dies…everyone…
