She screams “Fuck you!”
As a black shoe
Hits the bedroom door
In an impotent blast of fury.

I inwardly seethe
Hoping for a reprieve
From the Hell that is
My teenage daughter.

She flounces out
With one final shout
Of venom, vitriol
And hatred.

I wish we could be friends
But the warfare never ends
She doesn’t want my love
Just my clothes, cash and make-up.

Her moods are like the weather
I doubt she’ll ever
Change.

But I still love her
Whether
Or not
She ever
Changes.

Nicely done..

what an apt description of a parents torment by growing teenagers. Harsh words won't change her, it will only add fuel to the fire. Half of the battle has already been lost, accept partial defeat, back away (retreat) then regroup and use new tactics. #1 Learn her language. #2 Learn to smile and be calm infront of the enemy. #3 Kill her, with kindness.

Parental torture ~ knowing that there are some things, no matter how skilled you may be, that you cannot change. Some will rebel for every reason under the sun; others are so passively compliant, it makes you wonder what they're really doing...
