i see the subtle ways,
(in which you lie)
all plains,
(of dying greenery)
craggy cliffs
stark against the sky

i see
your perversion
a slight twist in the way you think
i find myself pitying you
and all the half-truths
you believe

you tempt me with your
kisses
which creep
which seek to fill
my mind and soul
but i know better
(i will hold my own)

we are
two opposites
i could live without you
but without you i know
i would not be complete

must you torture me so,
taunting and teasing,
like the demon you are?
have mercy on me

i see the subtle ways,
(in which you lie)
all plains,
(of dying greenery)
craggy cliffs
stark against the sky

endless meanings
and hopeless words,
we are worlds
apart
i look to you and all i see now
is a long-faded star

you are my life line
which i cling
so desperately to

my
temptation
waiting to happen
but which i know
never will
