Click hereSeptember 11, two thousand and one
A normal day at the start
By nightfall, one filled with terror
With an ache in every American Heart
We watched in stunned disbelief
As events unfolded that day
We saw such horrendous things
In our minds forever they will stay
Days filled with so much sadness
Searching for the ones to blame
For the sake of unnatural hatred
Our lives will never be the same
Through all of this nightmare
United we will always stand
Shoulder to shoulder we will stay
Around the world and across the land
We will not let them win
The COWARDS from that day
Proudly we will always remain
The United States of America, the great USA

Very poetic and heartfelt, I enjoyed it very much thank you Lady~
Have you ever thought of writing more about this tragic event? Perhaps, giving more personal details like where you were when you first heard the news and what you were doing. You could tell how you felt that night when you went to bed, what kind of dreams or worries you had. Talk about the fear you had during the following days. Give examples. Perhaps you went shopping at a local mall and you couldn't help but watch the faces in the crowd or wonder how life can simply go on after a national tragedy. Just something to think about. It could make an even more powerful poem.
