Coming awake in a beads of sweat
Flipping on the light to insure no threat
The shadows dancing across the ceiling
What the hell is it I'm feeling.

Is it something I did in the past
That burning desire to never be last
Did I step on some one and crush their dreams
All I can hear now are the sounds of their screams.

Innocence is something I lost long ago Where or when I just don't know
The days seem shorter and the nights endless
Somehow someway I must find my penance

The shedding of blood the crying of tears
It went on for so many countless years
I thought once it ended so would all my past errors
I guess now I must just live with the night terrors.
