some festivals last a lifetime
others last just four days

you’re the strobe-storm
that blinds me
from stage to stage,
the sweet intoxication
we inhale, exchanged
from mouth to mouth

rolling beneath the sky,
we share the same stars
divide them up between us,
you can have that one
I'll have this one,
we can be the two stars
that orbit each other
in separate space, but
close enough to feel
the pull of our gravity

love comes to catch us unawares
while we’re looking the other way,
words attempt, and fail to make
sense of this beautiful delirium

some festivals last a lifetime
others last just four days
but my fingers never
tire of caressing you,
my lips never too tired
to explore the memory
of your secret places
