The glow on my face
A twinkle in my eye
Sharing a secret embrace
My vows now a lie
A stranger's taste on my lips
A union made in lust
His fingerprints on my hips
Murdering my husband's trust
A chance meeting
An innocent start
My marriage fleeting
Awakening my heart
Cold it had grown
My husband's affection
Desperate for the unknown
A victim of his rejection
"I love him" I thought
But the feeling I chase
My stomach in a knot
Dying for my heart to race
I let him inside
I screamed out his name
"Coffee with a friend," I lied
I refuse to feel shame
Abandoned and alone
Yet desired by a stranger
For my sins I shall atone
Having accepted the danger
Does he see the change
Does he sense my crime
Our every exchange
Only biding my time
Will I do it again?
I'll die if I do
"I'll meet you. When?"
"I can't wait, too."
