Silently I listened to the words he didn't speak.
I watched his body language and I knew that he was weak.
I am the one that's stronger, though sometimes I hide it well.
For I chose to answer the pulling calls from Hell.

I challenge them each day when they try to make me leave.
I tackle them with glory and bring them to their knees.
Sometimes they'll win a battle, but I will win the war.
I'll make my life a memory, before I walk out the door.

I'll not allow the words of hate to spill from me.
I'll not give him the satisfaction of seeing me flee.
He'll never here the words, “This was a mistake.”
For the love I have and offered, were his to not forsake.

So when the day is done and my heart is beating strong.
I'll know that deep down, I stayed through the whole song.
I didn't give in easily, but fought each journey of my past.
I'll know that in the end that I tried to make it last.
