could I portray
the deathly cold
or the multi-hued sunset?
I feel neither, nor
can I mourn the loss

through grief I am severed
the snapped spine
to drive nerves of anguish
into the silence

could I show
my dead faith in humanity?
or my lost trust in friends?
my eyes they betray
the silence speaks volumes

every day I grip the hope
to feel the emotion
to dream the beauty
I dare not speak.
