i keep thinking about the past

reliving all the things that i should

keep in my past...

but it is so hard today

to keep my thoughts from haunting me.

when i sit here with the blade

in the darkness it glitters,

light is bouncing off the white of the scars

but in the dark the blade speaks to me.

telling me that it can make me feel better

thin strips that will only sting briefly

before the blood is allowed to drip

down my arm...

like the pain that will slip from my mind

slicing the flesh...

allowing the blood to drip...

so red, like my life force...

warm at first but soon it will chill

its like everything else in my life...

temporary....

but the memories will hang around

till i tell them otherwise

the blade will always be there to

comfort me...
