In the moments before sleep took her,

Did she imagine I was there, holding her?

Did she feel the connectingness, the shared thoughts?

Did she smile when sleep took her?

Or was it just words on a screen, an idle play to pass the time,
nothing to be serious about.

How did we complete sentences, thoughts for each other then?

feel the emotions so strongly

We shared our hearts, I thought.

But she is gone, messaging me no more, lost on the winds of cyberspace, forever it seems.

A momentary blip of numbers on a machine,

Whose memory has been erased.
