I still see you there
standing
quite still
yet busy
in your summer dress
just there
amongst the cherry trees.
It was a good year for cherries
and you came
and found a place
in the branches
amongst the leaves
deep in my heart
and you plucked
and you picked
and you pulled
and you stood quite still
and stole me away.
How dark the cherries
that year
red turning black
exotic to see
erotic to eat
exploding juices
wetting your lips
lubricating your smile
which you buried deep in my soul
with your penetrating eyes.
I still see you there
in the cherry orchard
where the trees remember you
and whisper your name
at night
under the stars
that took you away from me.
