first she became a fish
and he became the sun
she became rain then, over him
and he became a fountain
He was a house of light
and she was the skin that contained him
She was milk and honey
and he was lightning and moths
over a wide field.
She was a sheaf of wheat
heaped all around with lilies
and he was a godborn rocket
and a salmon in the pool.
She was a simple goddess
his jewel in the lotus, his careful island
and he was only Herculean
her demiurge, a symbol of wands
her private Ace of God.

At the last, she became a single apple
and he was a pillar in the temple
and a slickness between her lips.

Another winner!

I just love the way you write. I don't usually gush like this, but you have a unique poetic voice. Recommended in today's new poems reviews in the poetry feedback and discussion forum.
