Everyone around you is nakedly upbeat
Under their clothes
They'd be loathe to admit it
But penises and pussies hide
Biding their time for the great reveal
The feeling of skin on skin
For the fingers and tongues that give love
Or what passes for it
To arses as well as they can
For not everyone is not as gifted in the sack
But there's no lack of hope
That the dope next door
Or the ho in the next row
When cornered for the grind
Will be god's gift to genitals.
Sex makes optimists of us all.

This is just a bit of fun nonsense. Enjoy.

this is one of my favourites of yours i have read, vrose! loving the sound links throughout, the unfussy language, and the overall concept.

Frothily jaded

This has a kind of street-wise, nonchalant kind of cynical glow to it, like something that would come out of the mouth of one of Manet's whores.

It's more off-hand than "The Anti-Romantic" and less obviously 'finished' as a work of art, but still very enjoyable, whimsical and kind of flirty in a way.

The line "For not everyone is not as gifted in the sack" has me scratching my head a bit-- but I *think* I get it. (negatives always give me cognitive headaches!)

Of many intriguing turns of phrase, "When cornered for the grind" may be the most amusing. There's an inherent bossiness to it, like an 80s Madonna lyric. It gives the impression the speaker is about to corner one too! --I really enjoy this.
