Through the dark forest we picked our way
Though dark as night and yet still it was day
What's that ahead, is it some sort of light
It can't be the sun yet it glows very bright
We trudge forward with caution we can't go back
With fear in our heart we stay on the track
It ebbs and it flows like a ghost it's so pale
Yet I know we are brave and our hunt will prevail
And like that it was gone as it turned back to night
That's when we lost nerve and we all took flight
