As night falls down and darkness blankets the sky, the rush of the day draws to a close.
I take a moment to say my prayers. I thank God for the gift of you and ask him to keep you safe.
And as the words leave my lips I feel a heaviness settle in my heart.
A weight so great my spirit bows, and emptiness sets in.
Thoughts of you, in vivid detail, flood my mind.
The gentle way you caress me, the taste of your mouth against mine, the sound of your voice, the strength, confidence, safety and love I feel just being by your side.
As each moment comes back to me, they hit me like strong waves crashing into a rock over and over.
And tears begin to stream down my face.
My heart, my soul, aches for you… because I miss you.
