I don’t belong here
with the hardened
ready to give it up
rough and stretched
at the limits
some find satisfaction
in the screams
but I never did
though I returned
again and again
hoping to hit that pitch
the elusive sound
signaling satisfaction
in pain inflicted
I became afflicted
turning belly up
exposing my narrow throat
rasping through the twinge,
“C’mon, choke me again.”
