As fierce as the dark night
That runs rivers of fright
Ripping away layers of the soul
The minds eye would perceive
That the dragon will deceive
Leaving nothing whole

Sitting, surveying the land
But she cannot understand
Why so many would want her blood
Is it mans desire for wealth
The thoughts for himself
That leaves her so misunderstood

Could she truly convince
With a glance or a wince
That her wings could set a mind free
Undoing the lies
That everyday we set aside
For all and convenience to see

She is eternal within our dreams
One mans laughter is another mans screams
But her veins will never run cold
Search deep inside
Surely you will find
That her heart is made of gold
