The rain beats against my face
In between sighs and stones,
Ever since I first glimpsed you
The world has been hostile to me...

Forget the night
Or shall I live no longer
Or then, only then shall I find meaning in your smile...

My vain spirit and painful words heard,
Have diminished a heart deprived of love.
An embrace empty by the fate of winter
A kiss, less full and lacking passion...

See the grace that is rarely granted
And a peace I cannot find
My love runs away
And I remain a prisoner, because your sweetness
Still arrests me...

Who dreams of such grandeur?
Such is not my destiny.
Who dreams of sweet torment?
I prefer to look inside myself...

Neither the light, nor enchanting beauty
Can change my wandering doubt
And I do not even hope for pity
And what remains of my fragile vows,
See how here nothing lasts...
