The gift you gave to me
is worth more than anything
more than morning coffee
more than diamond rings

you gave your every thought
and breath and moment to
help me, catch me, watch me
hold my hand and pull me through

you know me better than myself
and knew exactly what to give
to help me find my footing
to the life I’m meant to live

I’m here now but I’m lonely
wishing you were here to see
but I’ll be forever grateful
for these wings you’ve given me

relatable

I sooo related to this. I think we all had that person who paved the way...and regret when they are no longer there.
