She did't want to
Still he forced her anyway
Into acts so cruel and depraved
She wept and trembled
To the very core of her soul
With the shame of it
Poor little angel
She never stood a chance
Not one damn chance
Againest the monster of the man he became

BRIDGE

Tonight
The girl became a woman
Oh lord, no
She did't want to
She was't ready
For the drink in him
Gone a little too heady
His sanity
Barely hanging on
To keep him steady
As he laid down the perfect trap
The girl may have become a woman
Tonight
But lord oh no, lord
She was't ready
Ready for that big ole leaping step
Step into a frighting new world
A world called womanhood

All alone
Got an innocent
Right where he wanted her
Barn doors locked and shut up tight
Smile grim but determined
So horribly determined
Took her
Faster and harder then she ever dreamed
The first time would go
Betrayed a trust
A trust she'll never give another again

Tonight
The girl became a woman
Oh lord, no
She did't want to
She was't ready
For the drink in him
Gone a little too heady
His sanity
Barely hanging on
To keep him steady
As he laid down the perfect trap
The girl may have become a woman
Tonight
But lord oh no, lord
She was't ready
Ready for that big ole leaping step
Step into a frighting new world
A world called womanhood

Crowded her int
Got rough
So damn rough
Bruising her tender skin
Shattered her kindest heart
Butchered all her dreams
Turned her rose-colored glasses
An icy cruel blue
Without a care in the world
His selfish desires were all that mattered

Tonight
The girl became a woman
Oh lord, no
She did't want to
She was't ready
For the drink in him
Gone a little too heady
His sanity
Barely hanging on
To keep him steady
As he laid down the perfect trap
The girl may have become a woman
Tonight
But lord oh no, lord
She was't ready
Ready for that big ole leaping step
Step into a frighting new world
A world called womanhood

She had enough
Finally after all those long tortured hours
She found one last drop of courage
Courage and a gun
Looked her captor
Dead in the eye
Smiled bitterly and said
"You won't ever do this to another again."
Right before
Oh
Right before she blew an old friend away

Tonight
The girl became a woman
Oh lord, no
She did't want to
She was't ready
For the drink in him
Gone a little too heady
His sanity
Barely hanging on
To keep him steady
As he laid down the perfect trap
The girl may have become a woman
Tonight
But lord oh no, lord
She was't ready
Ready for that big ole leaping step
Step into a frighting new world
A world called womanhood

Tonight
The girl became a woman
Oh lord, no
She did't want to
She was't ready
For the drink in him
Gone a little too heady
His sanity
Barely hanging on
To keep him steady
As he laid down the perfect trap
The girl may have become a woman
Tonight
But lord oh no, lord
She was't ready
Ready for that big ole leaping step
Step into a frighting new world
A world called womanhood
