The Goal

Shouts and cheers
Screams and tears
Emotions that run amuck.

Scoring a goal is like
Filling your soul
If only for a few hours.

It compares with sex
Like with a woman who’s complex
The first time you make her cum.

It makes the heart race
Sends you into space
And pleases just about everyone.

The first time that ball hits the back of the net
Everything’s clear and just perfectly set
It’s what makes you a champion.

My goal was simple to score the most
Not to be able to brag or to boast
But to know I could.

Once I was done
So was the fun
But damn it’s great to relive.
