The Good

(This poem was inspired by the story of Moses as presented in the movie, THE PRINCE OF EGYPT)



Nothing good comes free…

…the cost of hope is despair:
the ache of losing,
the ache of separation.

..the price of joy is sorrow:
the escape brings tears,
the release brings fears.

…the cost of love is hate:
the pangs of abandonment,
the pangs of relinquishment.

Pain
has no synonym,
no opposite –
and yet

I cannot seem to gain
Without the pain.

Nothing good comes free…
