THE GREAT CANADIAN LONELY MIDNIGHT TRAIN WHISTLE 770414/OTT

By CARL EDGAR LAW
( c ) 1992

Night freight,
cavilling fractious
tolls the bell, moans
plangently

These fingers of snow
in the furrows

Metal-clad moon bursting
the chains of the trees
falling at morning with
a frangible sigh

The Fisher King cannot
heal here, his
wistful coupling is a fruitless
knell

freight-moan
tolling the hours

Wonderful, Wonderful !

Where are all the other comments?

Besides using some wonderfully unused words

the poet continues to display his great skill

at phrase construction,

image creation,

and general wordsmithyness.

Another poem to read, study, and learn from!
