The Guest

Mind is empty
Ears are screaming
Throat so very thick

My ribs they are constricting
A pause within my chest
My heart, what there be left is crushed
From the door as it slam’s shut

My stomach oh so queasy
Food would not sit still
My nerves completely shot
Tears just roll on through

This to be the fate of me
Destined to be alone
The sweat drips down my jaw
Of the peeps still on the phone

Your words roll on in my mind,
This record’s played again
It’s just a song they tell me
But I wish it would fucking end

“I’m too afraid to risk myself
The dreams of years ahead
They fill my mind with remorse my love
But another must share my bed,

Her mind is ill,
Please understand,
The choice I have made
She is not you and you not her
And that will take me to the grave.

I’m an old man all broken
Stuck forever in the past
To give up the future with you my love
For the sake of a shady past

Twill kill me slower then any disease
For the love I know you bear,
Don’t scream and shout
I know my love
It’s just not bloody fair

Its time to say goodnight love
Whisper it in my ear
Put to voice the words
The ones you always feared

Give me one more piece of you
Just whisper it down here
Before I say goodbye forever
To carry me through the years”

Phone still nestled against my skin
Its peeps they are so clear
My silence to your request
It hung there in the air
All that’s left to do now
Is to hang up on this year

I write down all the things we did
The memories we did make
The laughs, the romps,
The dreams we talked
That kept us up till late

Let me sleep now dreams
Of what I thought was once so very true
Let me toss and turn no more oh dreams
Of the love I had for you

My bed so warm and comfy
The relief I feel is great
The months rolled on without you
I loved with too much haste

She didn’t last a week with you
Her promises were a hoax
She had you by the balls my love
And guess who was the joke

The fault is yours
Your bed is empty
I told you from the start
I will not take second place
Not within Your heart

Don’t call my phone
I’m not here
Don’t write me notes
I cannot read
The flowers
They made me sneeze
Christ don’t beg me please

You taught me such a lesson love
One I will not forget
Some people are forever
Some people remain apart
But you my love will forever remain
Just a Guest within my heart…
