Ladies and Gentlemen
I won't lie to yawl
Here and now
Let it be confessed
I am guilty of all those crimes
A soul can be a selfish thing
In these unforgiving, desperate times
Be my guest
Talley up the sins I have made
So what if I romanced the minister's lonely wife
Next to her naked flesh I laid
So what if I stole from the rich
And gave a little bit back to the poor
So what if I left that cheatin' card player
Lying poker faced upon the floor
So what if I stole three dozen horses
And let two dozen run wild and free
Honestly, do you really think I give a damn?
When did you expect anything more of me?
Every step taken from here on out
Is for every two I've stepped back
The Hangman's noose surely is my fate
I doubt yawl will cut me any slack
To the gallows this can only lead
For penance everyone in this town may need
Yawl better listen up real good
Pay attention
And heed this
When I will return
You will recognize my eyes
Behind the mask when I pull the lever
